Connie is a result(consequence) of her dam's decision to teleport herself out of the doe pen and into the buck pen...in February. I really didn't want to bottle feed a kid born that late into the summer, so I broke the standard procedure and let this kid be dam-raised. As my adult pens weren't designed to keep kids contained, this little spitfire was constantly running loose all over the place, and acted like she owned the place. After she was weaned and had to be commingled with a pen of much older and bigger kids, that spicy attitude was exactly what she needed though, and she caught up in size pretty quickly.

At 10 months old, she headed out to her first show, and was 1st in a good-sized class of dry yearlings, and then went on to be the Junior Champion!

Now as a 2 year old first freshener, she had a slow start to her milk production, and lagged behind the other first fresheners for the first month and a half. Her production climbed from there, peaking at over 10 lbs of milk per day, and she maintained a steady lactation curve, continuing to produce over a gallon/day through 200 days in milk. Her daughter, Moon's Eclipse, was Best Junior Doe in Show at one of the spring shows this year, but unfortunately we lost her soon after that.
