Flurry is a doe that has always been a standout for me, and while she has so far had very limited time in the show ring, I am hopeful that she will freshen well enough to stay on the show string as a milking doe. I chose not to show any kids at the local shows in 2023, but I did take them to the 2023 ADGA National Show, where Flurry made the cut and was the 15th place Intermediate Kid.
Now, in 2024, she again stayed home for almost the entire show season, but I made a last minute decision to add her to my entry at the last show of the season, the '24 Big Fresno Fair, where she ended up being the 1st place dry yearling in a very large class, and continued on to be selected as the Junior Champion, earning herself a restricted leg. She is bred to *B Boulder Oaks Octave for February 2025 kids.
A little maturity has done a lot for this little doe! She is the shortest of the first freshening 2 year olds, but there's a lot to like in this little package. She maintains that look and style that I really like, and has gained a lot of depth of body as well. Flurry had a moderately successful show season, jumping around a good bit but staying either in the middle of the pack or even at the top of the class a couple of times. At the 2025 CA State Fair, she was the 3rd place 2 year old, standing right behind 2 of her herdmates: Karat and Moonpie. She freshened with an extremely well-attached globular udder with a very smooth and strong foreudder. Her milk production is the lowest of her age group, but it does still look like she should make enough to earn a milk star, and she is one who will be sticking around to see what another freshening does for her.
